Hi guys, I was searching online for a replacement alternator for the 2005 Aston Martin Vantage V8. I saw several alternators on offer. Do you have any idea which one is available and compatible with the non-Aston Martin aftermarket?
I found this.
4W4T-10300-AA),Ford Lincoln Thunderbird LS del 2004.
I found something on ebay but I would like to be sure.

Scurderia parts say the part number for the alternator for V8 engine is 6G43-1410051

I'd start by searching for that part number.

According to this thread, the 2004 Thunderbird one worked.

Also try to check the alternative parts thread we have here.

I would honestly go with an AM-sourced one, like the options on AM Bits, not too pricey if you consider the used ones, but each their own.

I have been using artificial intelligence for a long time, which slowly, with many errors, finally led me to a solution by having me check the Start relay in front of the hood of my 2005 Vantage. It helped me a lot, even if it made some gross errors by confusing the fuse boxes of different years and different cars, but in the end, with this, I managed to understand the main problem. Artificial intelligence is very useful. If you have an input to be able to use it, if you think with it in a profound way, I would have spent a lot of money on a simple relay.

Artificial Intelligence is a deeply stupid autocomplete that serves you the collective opinion of the internet documents it has crawled, thinking most popular is most probably right. If it can't find an answer that fits then, in order not to disappoint you (because it's not programmed to say "I don't know" - for where's the continued engagement and ad revenue in that?) it'll invent one for you. There's an old adage - rubbish in; rubbish out.

In the same way you've checked your alternator with a voltmeter to confirm it's FUBAR (as per your other thread) you'd likely as not have checked your relay in the same way. So AI saved you nothing, but your logical approach (and asking PH biggrin) did.

End of rant grumpy

But I'm glad you've found the root cause of your problem, as my analysis was wrong.

Yes, but your analysis also served to complete the job.
When I need to know anything about the Aston I simply use Google and next to my search I write "pistonheads" refers me to what I was looking for and that has already been discussed on the forum
I take advantage of it, there is no search button in the forum?
