Hi, can anyone please help?

We have an ongoing problem with a 2013 Vauxhall Agila (Suzuki Splash) that no one seems to be able to resolve.

The power steering is functioning but does not centralise correctly (you have to manually centralise the steering after a corner for example) and acts as if the car is going faster than it is by weighting up too much.

We have spent a great deal of time and money on the car and have so far been to several different electricians and mechanics.

What appears to have been the problem seems to have been a broken wire between a control box and the module which has been replaced, but we now have incorrect readings for steering and input angle, acceleration, brake pedal position, yaw reading.

We assume this would relate to a yaw sensor however, this is only fitted to the optional package when ESP is specified, and these functions are provided by the ATE MK 80 ABS pump.

Ridiculously, to get to this stage we have replaced the steering rack, motor, all modules, body control module, 3x ABS pumps, steering angle sensor, had all of the wiring checked for signals and voltages (how the broken wire was found) several four wheel alignments done and obviously the tyre pressures. To start with there were various erroneous readings from ABS sensors which cleared and did not come back after the ABS pump was replaced. All of the crankshaft and camshaft sensors were also tested and swapped out.

All parts have been tested against each other and against the machines and nothing made a difference along the line until the broken wire was discovered.

The original fault code was C 1122, but that now seems to have resolved itself after the broken wire was replaced.

In my eyes, it would seem that all of these function should be covered by a yaw sensor but as this is covered by the ABS pump and this was tested and found to be okay I don’t understand it. It may be that along the line, somebody has sent a voltage up a line and distorted something before finding the broken wire.

This is on an otherwise great car and it is a real nuisance. I wondered if there’s anything obvious that anybody could think of that could help us.

Your expertise and time is very much appreciated! I am sure there are other things that I have had covered and tested which I have forgotten.

The car is a 2013 Vauxhall Agila 1.2 SE manual RHD which is identical to the Suzuki Splash of the same era so there is a confusing crossover of electronic systems and protocols.
