I used a company which claimed to have experts in washing cars, for a hood restoration and clay bar on my MX-5.

The people they sent had no idea what snow foam or a clay bar was, did not have any of the knowledge, equipment or cehmicals to do a hood restoration and instead seem to have used a rotating brush to scrub it. I didn't see them do this but they left a brush head behind. The hood is now damaged.

The company which took the booking uses franchised cleaners. I don't know who they actually sent to me. The company has refunded me 25% of the cost of the booking and now won't reply to my emails.

What should be my next step?

If you have the name of the company, then escalate internally until you get some traction from someone senior opposed to generic email addresses. One final email asking them for the details of their insurers (likely Professional Indemnity) and if no response still, then escalate into a small claims / MCOL claim.

You’ll also need a couple of quotes to remedy the roof back to its original condition to base the financials on your small claim upon.

Contact your insurance company for advice, I don't know if this is a good idea, I'm hoping others might advise, but you need people with big guns to help??
