Hi all,
Looking to get into a 911 in the next year or so, just waiting for a few things to fall into place financially.
In the meantime I wanted to rent a 911 for a few days for use in the UK in early May - does anyone know of anywhere that does this? I have done the usual searches but keen to hear of positive first hand experiences from people who have done similar.
Covering a moderate distance, likely minimum 500 miles but well under 1000.
I saw the Porsche Drive Rental thread from a couple of years ago but that service no longer runs.
Based in Hertfordshire so ideally somewhere relatively local for convenience. Happy to travel if needed though.
Thanks in advance.

Avis Prestige. Looks like they have 911s on fleet from Central London or Heathrow (and might move one for you?) https://www.avisprestige.com/sports

For the same reason as you, I rented a FFRR from them for a few days. Took it all the way up to Scotland for a long weekend to check that I was going to get on with it before buying one.

It may differ from branch to branch, but the the guys in the one I used were great and into their cars. When they heard what else I drove they waived some of the deposit requirement. Also ended up with higher mileage allowance than expected when initially booking.

Was really impressed, especially given some of the horror stories you hear about some high end car rental places.

Could try a supercar rental place but likely limited mileage and lots of conditions.

Scrap that - called Avis Prestige but they've taken them off the list due to only having cars for certain time periods - only have SUVs now of all brands. Maybe getting some Merc AMGs in but TBC when.

Back to the drawing board. Cheers anyway LooneyTunes :thumb:

Ahh, that’s a shame. They had quite a nice fleet when I used them.

Try giving Enterprise a call, don't know if they still do them

Thanks QD - have been in touch with them. Have you used the service before?

I had a 911 turbo off them for about 6 weeks, provided as an insurance curtesy car.

Just be carful checking the the car when handed over to you. When they dropped one off for me it was in the rain & they parked it in a corner so I could only see one side & the front.

When it went back they took it indoors dried it, went over it with a UV light, literally counted the tiny stone chips, checked hidden markings on the tyres to see if they had been changed, checked tread depth etc they took over an hour inspecting it.

If its for fun rather than to test if you like it as a daily, consider flying to Germany and renting there instead - a few hour drive from the alps and you'll get to experience it at its best. c500 Euro direct from Porsche.

Nice idea, however it's for use on a specific UK trip, so not really one for this time around.
