Just put my (t)rusty 2012 TDi Exeo estate through its MOT and for the fist time an advisory has been flagged to say the rear subframe is corroded. I’ve not peered under it yet to survey how bad but, assuming I bite the bulket to replace, is there an obvious source for the assembly, and is changing it a whole world of pain? Suspect it might be but maybe someone here has trod the path…

Its likely just surface rust. Wire brush and a load of rustproofing should be good.

If its rotten it will have failed.

End of the day its just a B7 A4 with a slight styling refresh so any A4 subframe (2WD) should fit if needed.
