Has anyone run a Mazda MX30, they seem to be reasonably cheap but look well built, the range isn’t the greatest but 100 miles would do me, if not I may look at Renault Zoe’s, it will only be a third car not get me to and from work

I did start looking at the sDacia Spring but the Mazda looks much better value, target is to find an pcp around £130 a month.

So no warranty on these then.
"The Mazda New Vehicle Warranty officially begins on the date of first registration. Registered before 1 September 2025: These cars fall under the old policy of 3 years or 60,000 miles."

While it's within a battery warranty, I wonder if the low use over a lengthy period would have done harm to long term battery health.

I so wanted to like these as they look fascinating, but the reality of the range means I'd have been charging nightly and having to go beyond the 20-80 daily sweet spot for the battery.

It seems perverse for Mazda to forge their own path and create something interesting that's largely hamstrung for anything but popping to the shops.

Reminds me of the ENY1 from Honda another Japanese company. Looks great but also a lot of compromises which ultimately makes it unattractive at SRP.

Oh I dont know, if you're a typical 8000 mile a year commuter, doing the 30 to 50 mile a day 5 days a week drive to work, I think this would make a compelling proposition as a 'just for daily duties', but you'd need a second car for other duties.
I actually fall in to that category. I work from home and the wife drives to school (teacher) every day. So she uses the tesla, but we still have a volvo xc90 for towing the caravan, if I need to go somewhere during the week and for big days out with the dogs and other clobber.
I get the tesla as a company car, but if it wasn't for that and I had to buy a car for Mrs.nicks daily grind, something like this would be a great buy.

4 days a week it would cover 6 miles a day, 1 day it would cover 60, then the weekend between 10 and 70 so range should not be an issue. Plus I’d only want to charge on a 13a plug it seems better value than a leaf - with 1k down they are around £130 a month, interest isn’t great but then I don’t have to worry about getting shot of it at the end of term.

You can get the Frontera for about that price plus it comes with a warranty and potentially some very nice Vauxhall goodies.
