Stick or Twist? views on the state of the market?
Discussion
Hello fellas -
I've been toying with the idea of putting my 997 up for sale -
prices seem to have been resilient/climbing a little in the time i've had it - but with the current state of play, thanks for the mad orange t
t over the pond, would i be bonkers to let her go now?
It seems to me that the discretionary/classic motor market is likely to be hit hard with any ongoing oil shock & economic downturn.
I was just a kid, but i remember 1990
whats the general consensus?

If you're selling to chase the peak, that peak was last summer. Discretionary stuff like a 997 gets shaky when the economic wind turns. Keep it if you enjoy it. Sell if you'd rather have the cash before the tyre-kickers get picky. Don't overthink it.
No, not trying to chase the peak - just have had for three year now - so time to move on. Was kinda surprised to see the value was pretty much where is was whan i bought (c.£45-£50k)
normal i'd be trying to buy in this cycle - as everything start to look a bit better value.... this time it may be different though....
swings and roundabouts, i guess
you're 100% right about overthinking it though!
