On tonights ITV Chaser some blind chap called Giles a writer from Cardiff wanted Ferrari trackday ?

They didn't win unfortunately......I just hoped he got it to happen
Doesn't look like it was recent - Guide actually shows it was Series 16 EP93 of 190 ?!? 2 seasons old

ITV website is garbage so had to use f12 developer mode to work out the link is /watch/the-chase/1a7842/1a7842a2170
transposing the current link from https://www.itv.com/watch/the-chase/1a7842/1a7842a...
to this correct one for tonights episode:
https://www.itv.com/watch/the-chase/1a7842/1a7842a...

I mean they could 1) televise current episodes and 2) list the correct episode number versus date on their player, but that would be too easy huh?

about 20:30 mins in to see Giles.
Could anyone help him ?

I’m an ARDS instructor and do quite a few days instruction with various supercar experience day companies. Last year I was asked to do some instructing with a blind lady at a fairly challenging venue which was at Aldershot on the army training grounds. The driver went out in three different supercars which if I remember correctly were Posche, Lamborghini and McLaren. The company which were involved in these drives was Car Chase Heroes, we did the drives first thing in the morning prior to the other customers getting on circuit!

Interesting - a friend went blind a few years ago but is a real petrolhead, still has a few bikes we take him out on, but I didn't think this sort of thing was a possibility. Are you allowed to name the Company or pm me?

I remember Clarkson taking Billy Baxter around the TG lap faster than Terry Wogan - a very underrated feat from both parties. Billy has done some notable speedy things since he went blind.

What does he need? Is it a car or an instructor?

I can't access the Facebook page but if he just needs a car he can use mine, whenever.
It's a McLaren, not a Ferrari, but the offers there,

Wow - thanks for the generous offer.

As I understood it, the issue was a facility/organisation willing to let him do it as it was outside the scope of their insurance. His Son has several cars, including a Ferrari.

After the above I did a bit of searching on the subject and there are a few charities doing this stuff and some organisers do specialist days for blind people, so something to investigate. To be honest when I heard it wasn't covered I kind of assumed that was that so was surprised when Barry said he'd done one.

When I watched the clip which seems to obviously be several seasons ago - who knows maybe he did something by now but perhaps didn't - my impression was he wanted to be just taken AROUND the track, I might have misread the situation

His suggestion on what he wanted to do should be on the ITV chase footage which I think was in my first post about it.
