The day started so well, it’s Saturday, I woke up thinking I’ll let the dogs out into the garden, get them their breakfast, a quick tidy up of the kitchen, a leisurely breakfast for myself, dogs for a walk then ring BT to sort out an account renewal.
The rain had eased, the dogs came in from their early garden toilets and were waiting patiently for their breakfast. I quickly arranged their platters, placed apart on the utility floor when it became apparent that my own visit to the loo was very very urgent.
Sitting there, I heard a sad, plaintiff cry, a sort of squeeky bleep almost. I wondered at first what it was. Not heard that before, hope the dogs are OK. I stood up and there, in its’ final moments of life, the dying cry of a Samsung S9 sat amongst the poo.
I'll remember that cry for ever.
Don’t carry your phone in the back pocket of your jeans…..

Fish it out. It's your own poo. It's not like it's someone else's. That would just be a bit weird.

Fished it out, wiped it clean, shook the water out of it.
It is dead, pushing up the daisies, the wrong side of the grass, deceased.

Been procrastinating about a new phone since before Christmas when I ended up skint after buying two (actually one and a half) iPhones for wife & son.

New S24, recon S25 or something different?
(Will not have an iPhone as I don't understand their system - trying to get some photos my wife received via Samsung Share onto her iPad just reminds me why I prefer Android/Windows).

Appreciate the iPhone comment but just to mention Amazon are doing the iPhone Air for £699 which is a pretty hefty saving.

Thanks, yes I know there's a huge following for Apple devices and rightly so, I just struggle with them, have done since she got an iPod in 2009 and was using iTunes. Her iPhone 17 and iPad just confound me still.

I've used Windows/Android since 1989, it's just in my blood now.

Edit: just realised, that's 37 years since I started with computers and ACAD10, where has the time gone.

The S25 seems to be just a few improvements on the S24 for quite a bit more ££.

Yes I think the S24 and S25 are very similar. I cant justify £1k+ on a phone. Its just madness to me.

I got mine from Giffgaff "as new" refurbished.

Won't start up, won't charge, it has passed on to a place where dead phones go.

Why carry your phone around in your back pocket when you're in your own house anyway? I just put mine down somewhere in the living room in the West wing, and if it rings when I'm somewhere over in the East wing then fk 'em, I'll ring them back when I can be arsed.

Yeh I know. it's just something i have done for years. It fits and I know where it is.
On this occasion I'd picked the phone up off the charger in the bedroom on the way to taking the dogs into the garden, just come back in and got "caught short".
If I don't carry it around with me I end up leaving it, in the car, the garage, the polytunnel, some place I can't find it so have to ring it....
Daft as it seems, I'm using an old spare Sony phone now and within 15 mins it was in my back pocket.....

You can't cure stupid..

Put it in a bag of rice, that's supposed to be the best way to dry out wet phones.
You might not want to eat the rice in this instancerofl
