Your 'dream car'

Thinking about this, and with the potential to splash out on something that would have been outside any possible concept of reality as a teenager, I'm not really sure what I desire or what a dream car looks like to me?
In theory budget could stretch to £100k plus which is a huge amount of money to me and much more than I've ever spent before, but equally a long long way short of multi million pounds exotica - e.g. the F40 that was a poster on my wall as a kid, but even with such budget, I'm not sure what I lust over so much at that sort of price. Maybe in the day of the £125k BMW M5, my dream car budget has simply not kept up with inflation? Any form of supercar would probably do the trick insofar as sense of occasion (e.g. a used McLaren or F430/F458) but maybe my age is now dictating something rather less frantic?! Current cars for me, a 2025 Z4 M40i and a 2015 TT TDi.
So, what's your idea of a dream car and, maybe for context, where does that sit along side your current car/s??

As a kid growing up, my Dad used to drive the cars I loved, I remember drooling over an E36 M3 brochure he brought home one day, loved them from the first day I saw it, then he got one and it was amazing (side note, car brochures just aren't the same these days!)
I'm very lucky to have owned cars £150k+ and even more £100k+ such as 911 Turbo S, Bentley CGT, Taycan Turbo S if that counts.
I guess my dream cars are obtainable really, I fancy owning a Huracan at some point along with a 750s.
Thinking of cars that I would love, but couldn't bring myself to spend that sort of money on, I'd be torn between an SF90 or a Temerario with an Urus or a Purosangue to go to work and back in. That's probably the dream. Probably obvious and stereotypical choices.

A Lotus Exige in orange was my “realistic dream car” I remember seeing an orange S1 at donnington probably around 2002 and despite being surrounded by lots of other cars (it was actually a Ferrari day) I loved it.
Probably around 2005/6 when my mate could drive we used to go and look through the window of our local lotus garage (still probably 25 miles away) in the middle of the night because he had just passed his test and what else do you do?!

I have always been Ferrari mad and I loved a Gallarado I drove on a track day. My mate also has a McLaren that is cool and they look good value. But I think the only car itch I really have left is a Caterham. But I work abroad now and I’m more tight/ sensible so I don’t know if I will ever have one now.

My dream cars growing up are probably a bit mundane for some people but the first car I really listed for was an E39 M5. My dad was using his MD’s car for a couple of days and it was my first experience of any sort of fast car, I loved it.
I now own an F82 M4.
The other one for me was when I was in Greece in around 2006 and I saw a 911 Carerra S parked up at the road side and I loved it straight away, I believe it may have been a 997. The practicalities of owning a 911 stop me buying one currently but once the kids are grown up I’ll buy one.

Assuming I d still have to carry the wife and 3 teenagers around the options are limited and I d probably upgrade my gen 2 Flying Spur to a gen 3. Classic design and amazing interior.
If I could leave one at home it d be a GTC4 Lusso (starting to creep under 110k now. Great shooting brake style and perfect for a continental road trip. Or tip run.
For a 2 seater Id love a 458 but they start at 112k but I d be happy to wait a little for them to fall into budget!

Mine would be a 964 restomod, but no Fuchs, ducktail or heritage nonsense.
Just a well sorted 964 with a 4.0 with ITBs, about 380hp would be plenty. 6sp box.
Decent fast road suspension and brakes
Retrim the interior and change the seats maybe to recaros, add some 21st century tech (traction control, ac that works, wireless charging etc)
But keep it looking like a 964, which in my mind is the prettiest series of them all.
Resprayed in a bluer polar silver. South Polar Silver. Haha.
Would drive that bad boy every day till I can’t.

My dream cars as a kid were the E30 M3 and F40, because both were featured in a book on supercars I had. Me and my dad would always discuss fantasy garages on long drives and an M3 or M5 was inevitably chosen as a daily driver. I currently have an F82 M4 so that ticks that life-long dream box. The F40 is, alas, less achievable. When it comes to achievable cars, a TVR Cerbera has long been on the list. More recently I'm thinking Aston Martin DB9, which I could pretty much straight swap the M4 for.
OP - If you're thinking Ferrari but want something less frenetic, 80-100k gives access to a lot of the classic V8 Ferrari's i.e. 308, 328, 348, 355, 360. I'd be thinking 328. Great looks, accessible performance, great sound, not that expensive to maintain and unlikely to depreciate. My dad used to have a 308 so it would also be one up on him in my case

I hope they are wrong as I would love one or a F430 but alot of people are saying the 458's are only going to increase in value being the last naturally aspirated V8 Ferrari and to some the last good looking Ferrari.
To answer the OP's question though my dream car is a Ferrari F430, I grew up watching Schumacher at Ferrari and was about 13 when the F430 came out. Currently they are reasonably priced so could be attainable, hopefully they are still are when I can withdraw a lump sum from my pension. If not I'm hoping any Ferrari will be in budget, I like the California, the 296 and I didn't like the Roma initially but do now.
My plan is to keep the Seat for as long as possible and put the money saved by not changing cars into pensions and investments to make that Ferrari dream a reality.
I have a list of other bucket list cars, Mercedes AMG GTR, 996 Turbo, Gran Turismo (Ferrari Engine), F Type V8 and Lotus Elise. I wouldn't buy one of these until I've ticked that Ferrari box though.
For me it would be something older, beautfiul and striking, big characterful engine and great exhaust note, something that had a real sense of occasion even although dynamically it wouldn't be a patch on a modern supercar.

I've had one of the dream cars of my youth - An Alpine GTA Turbo. But I have multiple other dream cars sometimes the head has stopped the urchase, sometimes the wallet has.
My main dream cars are:

I get much more excited about the idea of speccing and commissioning a restomod build than anything "off the peg".
For example, were my boat to come in, my 996 4S would be going straight to Werk96 in Germany for the works inc a repaint to PTS, retrim, suspension upgrades and their incredible NA 4.3 litre 450bhp engine build. Given I already own the car, I'm optimistic I could get it done for inside of £100k.
Or it might be more fun to source and work with UK specialists and get the job done here.

Looking back rather than forward is our only hope. I think I bought the last truly great ICE car the GT4RS.
They might do another but it will have all the nanny stuff on it like lane assist etc. The 4RS you just jump in and go with that crazy 9k engine. It actually feels like an older car than it is.
