Which Lawnmower

I'm after a new lawn mower, my corded Bosch Rotak 34R has served me well for 10+years but I feel its getting tired.

Not particularly large lawns, the front is actually pretty small.

Must be battery/electric cordless and absolutely MUST have rear roller.

Ideally not costing a fortune.

I did look at the Hayter Hawk and quite liked it but seems very expensive. Also liked the look of the Bosch cordless mowers too and a few have rollers.

I don't want petrol as they are noisy and stink. I drive an EV, I can't have a petrol mower..! ha

What does PH suggest?

How about a push mower? Cheap, no batteries to charge, and you get some exercise too.

The Webb WEH12R is a really good shout, dont know why I missed that. Ticks all the right boxes.

I think the biggest problem with the Webb push mower is how small it is, although will have its benefits in some areas of the lawn.

Anyone got one? Able to share opinions?

This all day, unless you have an acre too mow then its all you need. no elec or fuel to worry about.

I have one and like it, wouldn’t want it as my only mower though, unless prepared to mow 2 or 3 times a week peak growing season

I recently bought a Cobra - went for the cheapest without being self propelled, but actually it's probably better value for money spending a bit more and getting the SP because it also comes with an extra battery.

You can get a rear roller kit for some of the Ego Cordless mowers, for example the LM1701E which is currently under £500, the roller is an additional £50.

I'd recommend spending another £100 and getting the LM1903E which comes with a bigger battery and a rapid charger.

If you were happy with your corded Bosch Rotak and plugging it in isn't too much hassle, then just get another one.

You need to spend quite a lot of money to get anything like as much power out of a cordless machine and you have the added hassle of making sure batteries are charged etc.

As your old machine proves, a corded machine is cheap to buy, plenty of power and just works for year after year.

Thanks folks, plenty to work with here.

I think... im toying with the idea of a direct like for like replacement (as per snow and rocks suggestion) AND a webb push mower. The bosch for the heavier cuts and the Webb for a finer cut, keeping it short and striped.

The reviews of the Webb push mower are great, some fantastic you tube videos too showing the striping.
