Dashboard ribbon

The dash on my Tuscan (2005 if relevant) behaves oddly, sometimes it scrambles and sometimes it doesn’t even come on. I’ve been told there is a ribbon under the steering wheel going into the ECU that can come loose. I can’t for the life of me tell which it is, I wouldn’t even describe any of the cables as ribbon, more like a lot of connectors.

Can anyone help me identify what I need to check, ideally with a photo? I’m sure it’s very simple but I’m stumped.
