Looking at buying a 2019 Jeep Compass 1.4 turbo. I know the garage (they supply most of our new company vehicles) but this is one they've taken in part-exchange. It's only got 32000 km and looks and smells like new.

Anyone have any experience/horror stories/advice?

Aren't they meant to be one of the worst cars of the last decade?

Experienced one, or two.

One came in needing a clutch. The parts weren't easily available at the time, took quite some time to get the clutch kit.

Second one not starting so well, maybe the oil draing from the block thingy? That went off to the main dealer (the one who hadn't changed the plugs on the last full service, even though plugs showing on the invoice)

A friend has run one for some years now, had zero problems with his.

I've owned a couple of Abarths, so used my local Jeep/Abarth dealer, they were dire to deal with sadly, and messed up one warranty job.

Probably plenty of happy users out there, but few things have put me right off Jeep/Abarth now.

The dealers are the worst thing about these, the mechanicals are proven a good Indy will see you right.

Avoid if you’re getting it because it seems like a good deal and it’ll do. If you really want one of those then it sounds like it’s a good one as far as good ones go.

Thanks for all the replies!

I bought it yesterday.

It comes from a Fiat/Alfa etc.dealer who I've known and dealt with for nearly 30 years. I can't fault the service I get, and between us we have more than 20 classic Alfas nuts

The car is actually for the daughter of one of my friends who is starting working for us from 1 May.
