I am being driven fking nuts by this. My email inbox is a mess of mundane suppliers of trivial services wanting me to review them. Often it's postal carriers with whom I have no contract; they have my email address from goods suppliers.

DPD not only asks me to review them but, when I don't, they keep reminding me.

So, from now on, unless a supplier has actually done something great all reviews will be the lowest rating. DPD has got my first 1-star Trustpilot review today, because they sent a TP link. They will get another 1-star every time they ask.

... and breathe.

If everyone started doing the same thing, all of our email inboxes would be emptier.

I completely agree, it's annoying. However, I frequently look at the reviews that are generated by these feedback forms, so I can't have it both ways.

I may accidentally lose an email from Svetlana, 23, who thinks I am sexy and whose flight tickets and hotel I have paid for. Or Prince Waheem Ackodobo, who said he will make payment to me as soon as he is able to borrow the bribe to the prison, in which he is cruelly and unjustly imprisoned, and gain access to his $100,000,000.00 inheritance.

Actually, now I come to think about it, it's a long time since I have been contacted by young Russian girls or African princes. If I can remember how I put them off I may try the same with DPD. Maybe if I email the CEO asking for nudes.

If it's from companies like DPD just click unsubscribe.

As you will no doubt have read in my OP, I didn't subscribe and unsubscribing won't work.

Every time you get one from a new supplier create a filter to send them straight to the bin.

Look at the bottom of the email - I've just looked "how did we do emails" from UPS & a couple of others & there's an unsubscribe link.

Yes and every time I supplier uses them I am re-subscribed.

hence setting up a filter to just bin them.

Same - I just delete them. 'How did we do?' is ridiculous - I ordered something, you sent it. End of story.

I also empty my junk box every day - 'your Cloud storage is being deleted' seems the most prolific. I no longer get 'do you want a bigger penis?'. Someone must have told them.

I have two email addresses.

One that is set to notify me on my laptop or phone on the rare occasion I get an email. I use it for anything important, or where I would need to respond or do something. It is the email address my employer, my accountant, and my family have, for example. I probably get less than 3 or 4 emails a month into it.

My other email address is used for absolutely everything else. Buying stuff online, Amazon, Ebay, as part of login details, social media accounts, for creating accounts on various websites, loyalty cards, and so on. I ignore this email account, and I think it now has about 30,000+ unread emails in it.

I have used this system for years and it works perfectly.

Why not just create a junk email address for use in daily life and simply ignore it. Life is too short to be spending it reading crap you don't want, deleting emails, or trying to unsubscribe from stuff.

can you just block them? Threads like this always go off in different directions, which is part of the appeal. You never really know what’s coming next. Some comments are serious, others just for fun. That mix keeps it alive. People keep coming back because of it. It’s kind of like roadie reviews—varied experiences all together.

The post office does it, "your parcel was delivered at 5.40:

"How did we do? Please rate our service "

You delivered something that you were paid to deliver, it's what you were set up to do. Well done.

Pizza express give you free doughballs but all the other ones just get deleted
