Regassing 991 A/C

Can't point you in the direction of a tool, but your most likely suspects in a 991 will be the A/C condensers which live in front of the radiators and are susceptable to foreign object damage, especially if you drive at high speeds.
I had a bird strike in my 981 which resulted in a pheasant taking out my offside slats, but I hadn't realised that the condenser had been damaged too. Eventually I too had a slow leak that didn't show up with dye, but staining showed it was the most likely cause. In the end I replaced both condensers myself after seeing the eye-watering quite from Porsche. Because the system had lost its gas entirely over a winter in storage, I also replaced the receiver/dryer with a new sealed one and added lubricant as directed in the Porsche workshop manual.
Once all was buttoned up I had the system professionally refilled with the correct quantity of refrigerant and it's been perfect ever since. I strongly recommend finding the leak and dealing with it rather than continually topping up.

Thank you for the really detailed response. I do have 2 new condensers and when the system was filled it had dye added as well, but it’s still not easy to find the leak as it’s slow. It could be the pump that the system uses, but this is a hunch and so I’m happy to refill once a year. My A/C Pro doesn’t connect though, so I was just wondering if anyone new of a similar type of low cost system that would work?
