40-50k 2 car garage ideas
Discussion
I need some inspiration on getting my 2 (or maybe more) car garage right with a budget of around £45k.
At the moment I have:
205 GTi. Very rarely use. I did a full nut and bolt restoration on it and its verging on too clean to drive. I feel I'm only keeping it for nostalgia although I do like modern classics.
BMW i8. This replaced a 996 as I wanted something faster, more modern and useable. It's definitely that but it's nowhere near as fun to drive. I do really enjoy it's ease of use and the ability to whoosh about on (not) free electric.
Peugeot Expert. I don't "need" a van but it's so handy for doing bike stuff, tip runs etc. it's only worth a few grand and I would really miss having a van. However, I drive it most and its horrid to drive.
There are a couple of motorbikes I don't use as well that could up the budget to 50ish
I don't commute by car, just a short drive to the station most days. Got 2 grown kids but another family car which I've excluded .I don't do and have no interest in track days. I live in Scotland so lots of good Highland roads around me. I enjoy working on cars as much as driving them so not afraid of a bit of a project.
What would you do? How would you split the budget? All ideas and suggestions welcome.

I've gone through a similar thought process with my S1 Elise because I don't use it enough to justify the costs. So I'd try to detach any nostalgia or sentimentality and go from there. Sell the 205, the i8 and the bikes.
Then
- BMW i3S for your short run to the station. Quirky and "petrol-heady" enough to keep you interested
- Porsche 981 Boxster or Cayman S. 981 seems like the sweet spot of useability to me. 987 Cayman R if you can stretch to one. Or an interesting BMW - E46 M3, Z3M coupe/roadster etc.
- Keep the van if you use it loads and it's not worth much, or replace it with a VW Caddy - I find mine to be acceptably less van-like to drive.

I'm all for a run about that acts as a good 'grounding' car that keeps the others feeling special, but with your fleet and it being what you drive most......that has to change! That budget is not one I frequently consider, but I'd probably get rid of the 205 in your position as it sound like the challenge/Journey of the resto was the 'win' there?
Hard to easily replace a Van, so you need to get something else that is the daily 'go to' I presume the I8 isn't due to it's lack of practicality?
Thanks guys. This is helping to just think it out a bit.
The i3s is interesting as it could make an ideal daily meaning I just keep the van but use it less. Think I said, I really enjoy the ev side of the i8. I've had an E46 M3 z4m and m135i and prefer it to all of those by quite some margin. I'd actually go as far as to say I really disliked at least 2 of them.
Not sure even I'm brave enough for a flying spur but I can't deny a big barge hasn't been in the back of my mind. I was looking at Quatroportte's just after Christmas. My son plays rugby and I'm often ferrying him and at least one other (very large) teammate to a match each weekend. Would be nice to do it in style and comfort. There's a very cheap MOT failure Jag xj8 x350 for sale locally that I keep looking at.
For many years I've had a Megane RS in the back of my mind but just can't figure what purpose it would satisfy.

I think I'd probably get myself a nice Model S in a proper colour for a daily:

Then the rest on a 997, maybe even sneaking into a 991 at that budget if you're lucky:

Or maybe something that burns fuel even faster:

If a Flying Spur is a bit much I wouldn’t be looking at QPs they will be similar to maintain and far fewer independent specialists around to look after them. The latest XJ 351 might be a decent compromise or an S8.The i3s is interesting as it could make an ideal daily meaning I just keep the van but use it less. Jaguar XJ is a very good option when it comes to a barge:
