Need advice post accident on what to get next. [6-8k budget]
Discussion
I have been recently involved in an accident and my Audi A3 2.0 TDI that I had for four months has been written off. I am waiting on the evaluation and will most likely get between £6-8k.
I need some advice on what to buy next, switch to petrol like I previously drove or buy another diesel.
I will be doing around 9.3k-10.3k miles per year according to my calcuations. Most of it will be motorway miles on the M1 and some will be city driving, let's say 70% motorway driving, 30% city driving. The motorway commutes to work can range from 20 minutes to 55 minutes for a 15 mile drive one way, so it's not the best for the DPF. However I visit my girlfriend most weekends and that gives me an effortless 40 mile round trip run.
I have mostly looked at diesel cars, mainly being VAG group cars with 1.6 TDI and French cars with 1.5 dci. However, I am open to suggestions on petrol cars and would like to receive recommendation on what engine I should get.

Your usage suit a diesel so that's what I'd be looking at you can get a good one for your budget, I'd be looking at the Infiniti range the drivetrains are proven & you'll get a nicely spec'd one fwith sensible miles for your budget :I need some advice on what to buy next, switch to petrol like I previously drove or buy another diesel.
