Rear Indicator intermittent issue BMW F23

My first foray into BMW ownership (or any German car for that matter), bought an 18 plate F23 at the end of last year. Picked it up on 28th December, so if you want someone to blame for the January rainfall, here I am!
Absolutely love the car, having come from most recently a Fiesta, and before that, an MGF and a Tf, this car is stunning.
One small niggle I have found, is an intermittent issue with the rear indicator bulbs. On occasion, rear indicators fail and an error shows on the dash, but when I checked the bulbs, they were fine. Looking on the forums, this seems to be a common fault, but all I have found is people reporting it, and I have yet find a solution. Can PH help?
