Exporting mails from Outlook Express 5 - how?

As per the title.

Just built a new PC for an acquaintance - his old PC running Windows 98 and Outlook Express 5. I was trying to export his mails and contacts (in the shape of a .pst file) to move over to the new PC. Problem is, the options to do this don't appear to be as comprehensive in OE5 compared to what I am used to in Outlook. The options are infact minimal and to be honest, quite useless.

Any suggestions on how to do this? Do I need to load up an old version of Outlook onto the machine to import from Express - and then export from this into a file for the newer machine? I am bit stuck, so all ideas and help gretaly appreciated.
