Having sold the Z06, I have to confess that I've always dismissed the Monaro as a bit of a big Vectra and I'm still not a great fan of it's looks. However, when it comes down to the wire, the choices are pretty limited and it makes a much stronger case for itself when you know it's the V8 under the hood that gives the car it's heart and soul. So it's still on the list of possibles.

ONE
So the first question is what do you pay for insurance?

I'm used to paying low American car insurance premiums but what do you pay, with whom (don't mention AF) and is it unlimited mileage. I've got over 10 years protected NCB.

TWO
The second question is what are the relative differences between stock 5.7, 5.7 VXR and the 6.0 VXR. Obviously I'm looking at the 6.0 VXR to give me the same performance as my Z28 but there's a £5k difference potentially.

THREE
Does anyone know the spec of the Pontiac GTO vs the VXR? The reason is that I actually prefer LHD and I can import a GTO for around £22k which has an advantage as it comkes with the 400bhp LS2 as standard but has awful red dials that look like they fell out of a chavved up Corsa.

Hi LU51FER,
I pay just under £700 for fully comp. business use for me & wife. Age 41 ncb & clean license with Norwich Union via a broker. They know all about the mods. as well. Possibly get it cheaper with the likes of Elephant, but I can get a good service from N-U should I have to claim.
5.7 has a bigger boot, which is useful for some. Maybe more importantly, the 5.7 can be modified with a wealth of tried & tested products & has been proved to be virtually bullet proof (sorry Will!). The 6.0 would seem to be an improvement but has yet to be tested over time & mods. are still in their infancy.
Know very little about the GTO, over than you will get hammered on resale in the U.K in comparison to RHD Monaro. However, could sell well in Europe if you are prepared to try that route.
With the right mods. I think you will be pleasantly surprised by a Monaro.
