Gentleman's Relish
Discussion
I'm traumatised . This punchy, anchovy based spread has been a breakfast staple since I was a kid . But now , because of 'falling sales' it's bne discontinued. Mrs Coppice has bought up Sainsbury's stock and I reckon I can eke it out six months . But what then ?

Surprising the manufacturers have thrown in the towel when there has never been a greater variety / quality of anchovies available, or interest in them. Perhaps it just needed rebranding for the modern age.
Something the anchovy lover will adore is colatora di alici. https://www.seriouseats.com/italy-has-fish-sauce-t...
I mix with good olive oil and dip bread in it.

Can't imagine it's too hard to make your own - anchovies are 65p a tin in Aldi. I love the little buggers.
Yes, me too. Works as an extra topping on a pizza too.Dave Hedgehog said:

I did a lot of work on their mustard range, brings back good memories.
The Carrow Road site is all gone now replaced with housing

Does anybody have any intel on where the product is still available to buy? Seems like a few chancers selling for big bucks on Ebay, and my local supermarkets all seem to have a space on the shelf but no product.
They tried expanding into mackerel and salmon pastes a while back, which I tried but didn't really hit the spot. I guess that didn't help bring the revival they'd hoped.
It's a shame, I normally have a jar (if you could call the little plastic thing that!) in the fridge. Totally on board with making my own, but it's more the convenience I'm missing.
