Nice routes Horsham area

Any favourite routes in this area? due to move to Horsham this summer and keen to get to know some nice roads.

I used to live that way. A trip out to Munich Legends always seemed good.

A24 north to Dorking, turn left A25 to Newlands Corner, plenty of classic cars meet up there in the good weather but it does get busy.

Brooklands Museum isn't far away.

A23 south to Brighton just over 20 miles, go early Sunday morning for a cuppa and a bacon butty

Take the A272 all the way to Winchester is surely the correct answer or plot a route down to Arundel to take in Bury Hill at sunrise?

I dont think the A23 could ever be considered a 'nice driving route' !

Option 2 sounds a lot better.

I have never understood the A272 fandom. Ok it might be
acceptable before 8am at the weekend, but at all other times it is
covered in sheep-like drivers.

Not much altitude, not many interesting corners.
It's an A road.

Personally, I'd avoid anything within 20 miles of Horsham.

I'd drive to CT18 8XX, wait about 40 minutes and then
experience far better driving conditions, better drivers and
better food.

Fewer speed cameras and more sensible speed limits too.

Beware the utterly ridiculous amount of average speed cameras on the A24 & A25 around Dorking!!

The A272 is fine if you're prepared to leave early doors (06:30) on a Sunday morning. Breakfast at the finish.

A272..as others have said. Do it early and plenty of places to stop for breakfast along the road
