812 Superfast seat choice

I’ve recently put a deposit down on an 812SF with the racing seats.
My previous one had full electric seats and I didn’t really feel well supported, I was holding on during hard cornering and bracing with my leg, also it felt like I was sitting on the seat instead of really being connected to the chassis.
However, I’ve never sat in an 812 with the racing seats and with me being 5ft 8, I’m concerned that I’m going to be on the low side, even with the racing lifter. Any others my sort of height with the racing seats?
Also, are these the same seats as in the 458? Visually they look the same but some sources say they’re updated. Can anyone confirm what the updates are?

The other consideration is that there is no seat lifter on the passenger side; someone below about 5ft 9in will probably not be able to see out the front. Have a look at Harry's video on this 812SF trip to France, his wife was using a cushion. It is not possible to retrofit a lifter on that side. I had the comfort seats in mine and had no issues.
I have seen Harry’s video and it was certainly on my mind when I sourced my first 812 but for the performance the car offers and my body shape, I was moving around the seats. I wasn’t a fan.
I have what appears to be the same seats on my 458 and they’re not a true bucket, support me perfectly in size large with enough wiggle room hence going for it blindly but it just occurred to me about the scuttle height.
Passenger things shouldn’t be much of a concern, wife is the same height and unlikely she’ll willingly be driven in this for many trips, other passengers will just have to grin and bear.

Seats are the same as the 458 except that you can’t adjust raise the front edge of the seat base by altering the bolt position. My wife is 5f 8 and driven no problem with the seat height raised 50% (it goes up a long way). If you liked them in the 458, you’ll like them in the 812. Enjoy your new car!

Seats make a huge difference, the only car I find the comfort seats work well in are McLarens as the car corners so flat and manages weight transfer so well.
I wanted to like the comfort seats and treat it like a GT car but a scratch beneath the GT exterior is a hooligan supercar and I won’t be using it for GT purpose as it personally scares me in anything apart from dry warm conditions so the seats should be perfect for an occasion car.
I never sat in the newer seats, but in the Scuderia I always found the seat does not give enough side support (am c. 5'9). The Ferrari racing seats are really not like the Porsche bucket seats, more like slightly uncomfortable but much better looking seats that still do not give support imo. Pretty sure the Scuderia did not have any type of lifter, so am sure you will be fine.

You’re right in that they don’t offer the same kind of support as a Porsche bucket but I find the 918 bucket which I have in a car too upright for any seriously long journey and the folding bucket which I have in a GT3 don’t offer any adjustability of the backrest anyway.I took my 458 for a spin this evening with the racing seats, the upper body is definitely better supported than comfort seats due to large bolsters but the lower half isn’t supported enough. I guess this is why they don’t call it a bucket seat, it’s really not very bucket like but just well bolstered for the torso.
The electric seats didn’t have enough support anywhere, the bolsters tightening gave you a feeling of being held in but the bolsters aren’t deep enough to stop you sliding. Also they weren’t firm enough to let you know what the car was doing through the seat of the pants.
Just to update this thread, car delivered and the seats are a revelation. Goes up way too high if needed and I could even drive it in the lowest setting. With the electric seats in my previous one, it really felt like a GT car but with the racing seats, I feel far more connected to the car. Really pleased with the outcome of what was a bit of a tricky decision even though I own the same seats in another car.
