Due to a medical situation in the family, I'm standing to fully inherit an Octavia L&K the petrol one 1.8TSi DSG, with very low miles given its an 14 year...and absoluetly stacked with stuff. On the downside you never quite know what you are inheriting but I just sorted its low battery situation and I think most of the error codes it stacked up.
I really will benefit from the much lower miles car, my car is the Octy 2.0 TSi has some bigger maintenance due soon - planning to do myself but will prefer to take my time and enjoy nice weather for it though no hurry with the L&K, and summer coming have my classic convertible revitalised but I don't like testing that on too high miles with it being 24 years old now...
I have a difficult decision on my hands with 2 very very similar cars perhaps its a good time to sell a petrol vRS octy or not?
I think the 1.8T may be better on petrol economy, insurance and tax, although not quite as brisk throwing down the road...I don't want to give away mine tho ( not even 80k yet ), would I be better off keeping and cherishing both, maybe fettle the 2L into something a bit more purposeful ?
