New to two wheels

Well, as a few people seemed to like the look of my first proper bike I thought I would say hello to the biker part of piston heads.

I've always wanted to do by bike tests, and since a break up there was no one to stop me!

3 years ago I did my first CBT and got a 125cc to get to know the roads from 2 wheels. I bought something a bit different that I didn't see many off when looking, a Husqvarna svartpilen.

House sale and kids took priority so didn't get around to doing my direct access.

A second CBT and I was determined. I managed to get booked in and pass my DAS on February.

I picked this up a week ago, 2018 but only had 1,800 miles. I've almost put the same miles on it in a week than it did between the last two mots. It's definitely more responsive than the husqvarna but so much more comfortable.

I didn’t realise the rs went back to 2018 , seems only like yesterday they came out , glad your putting some miles on it and enjoying it , and that’s some jump in bikes from a 125 - 900cc , I went 50-250-400-370-400-650-1000 , but I’m guessing the rules are different to when I started out , to be fair I struggle to remember what they were , think once I passed my test on my kh250 I could ride anything .

Are those the original tyres? I doubt the original owner changed them yet if they've only done 1800 miles. I changed the original tyres on my RS a few weeks ago and it made an already lovely bike even better.

Thanks all, and thanks if you have advise on the protective gear thread I asked on.
I managed to find an infinity motorcycles local to me so managed to try some bits on.

I'll have a look at the tyres, I'm not exactly testing the grip on them at the moment. Just taking things easy and getting used to it.

Eight year old rubber will not perform for high demands, but shall be perfectly well for getting used to the weight class. Change them as your driving demands change - don't sweat it out until they're finished.

I've just changed the second set of tyres on my 2020 Z900RS to new production Michelin Road 5 (others are good as well), and it's a different bike!
