When did you first fall in love with the M12 ?

Was it the first drive ? The first time you saw it ? Passenger at a track day ?

When I went to pick her up for the first time. I had heard so much about the Noble that I ordered by phone.

Then when I got there, wow.

Funny thing was I had taken my Father with me, and all the way to the garage all he could say was "you are stupid spending this much money on a car".

When he saw it he said "I can see why and I take it all back"

I had started to look around for something to replace my 911 which was a bit more raw.

I'd read about the Noble, and had see a few pictures of the car. I'd gone to see an M10 but I'd discounted the M12 as I thought it would be a M10 with a roof.

I'd previously gone to a TVR track day sales thing, and was utterly disapointed.

So I decided that I'd give an exige a go. I was driving down to book a test drive at Williams in Bristol, and there was the original M12 waiting outside. I just stopped the car, jumped out and stared. I must have looked a right loon (more than usual) as it was chucking it down. Needless to say I got soaked, but I had just regressed to a 10 year old !

I walked into the dealer, and gave him a cheque there and then. i had not even seen the inside of the car!

On the day of delivery I strolled into the car park and my nice shiney new car was there, and a big crowd of people where just staring at it.

It was so nice to have the key in my pocket !

I'm still totally in love with the M12, even after 4 years of ownership, It still makes me glow.

Ahhhhhhh

yep..at first sight on top gear, reinforced on first meeting one at HR Owen Gatwick (no longer noble!) and smitten after that test drive, the next, and the last.

Wife loathed it, not helped by test driver who made her feel physically sick (not me), so ended up owning TVR Tuscan for a year.

Eventually managed to swing the wife round to the idea, and been in the fold for over a year now.

Only wish the convertible had 2 turbos and reached production...would have been even prettier!

Wasn't love at first sight for me.

Had my Lotus 340R in for service at the dealer in Aberdeen who was also the Noble dealer for Scotland. I walked right past the M12 GTO-3 they had in the showroom.

After 4 years of the 340R something must have clicked as I stopped in Dundee for a test drive of a 3R at a dealer there on the way back to Aberdeen from Edinburgh and I just had to have one. I remember turning a corner and the demo model was there, parked outside. First impressions do stick.

About 4 years ago I was looking to buy an Elise and Tuscan. My local Lotus dealer had an early M12 sitting among the Elises and my missus kept asking me what it was. The looks almost sold it to me. Having an ex-TVR dealer there telling me they drive round the outside of TVRs helped too (pissed me off a bit as I had my heart set on a Tuscan for a while and I couldn't believe how cheap the Noble was). The test drive finished me off - the thing was on rails and I hadn't heard anything like its turbo noise and I even tried to buy the demo... which they wouldn't sell.

Jools, nice to hear from you again.

Wasn't thinking of buying another car when I received a call from a friend about his Ferrari.I agreed to buy it subject to a test drive which was awful. There was so little room I had to take my shoes off !
I then went on holiday and received a text message saying he'd sold it and taken a M12 in PX. I asked him not to sell it until I returned.
I saw the car at 7pm had a 10 min test drive agreed the deal and picked it up the following morning.
Walking down the drive and seeing it parked on the road did it for me before I'd even driven it.
It was love at first sight

Ahhhhh

14 weeks later it still makes feel all warm inside just by looking at it

OK OK

I waited 13 months for mine.

As some of you will know, I was waiting for a compensation claim for a big motorbike accident. I knew the money was within 18 mnths of arriving, so I started looking for the car I'd promised myself when I was seven years old...the one that was better than everyone else's, and would make people stop and stare.
Looked at a Cerby first, (which just happens to be where I saw my first Noble) kept asking what the little blue car in the corner was but didn't get a straight answer.
Next up for test was a 355( wouldn't turn, and slower than a Camaro I had 15 years previously), and then a 911 Turbo (super car but had no passion).
Next up was an Evo 8 FQ330. It didn't set my pulse racing but I figured I could have it tuned and then it would "float my boat"
I decided on the Friday that I would put a deposit down for the Evo on Monday morning, but got a car mag on the way home and read another good report about this Noble that everyone seemed to be talking about. I figured that I'd like to be able to say that "Hey...I drove one of those but my Evo is much better", so I called for a test drive. Saturday morning and two hundred yards later I knew I was having one!
The longest 13 months of my life ensued but I got there...and now I am "Mr Smug B45tard"

Martin.

A friend came back from Le Mans telling me all about these Ultimas in the car park he had seen and showing me pictures. I said I would love one if only it was a bit more refined. He then pulled out a photo of a Noble and said ahh well you want one of these then.

I studied the pic and did a search on the www and thought it looked silly at the back and boring from the side and kit car ish from everywhere................so I carried on with my test drives in a 355, tuscan, cerby, boxter and 111R.

I then decided to buy an S2 Exige when I found out that you CAN take their roof off and fit the cloth one! That was me sold.

Went to castle for another test drive in one and agreed to buy one when they were slightly cheaper 2nd hand.

Passed Kerridges a few weeks later and stopped to look at a tuscan. Steve Kerridge came out and rather reluctantly (I think) gave me a test drive in a 3R, which I bought 10 minutes later!!

It was actually almost twice what my budget was and I have not had a summer holiday or new kitchen etc in lew of the purchase. But its worth it!!

Saw it at the Canary Wharf motorshow.

Found a decent dealer after being pissed around by a now ex. dealer.

Took it for a test drive.

30 minutes later I purchased car no. 26 as the first owner.

Took delivery some weeks later after the car was ready.

I had arranged to meet the former owner at Donnington park. Drove into the museum carpark and saw it side on on a sunny day, turned to my girlfriend and said "that's it I'm having it".
I guess you have Clarkson's TG (Red) M12 Darth Vader review to blame for the start of the search.

Came across this group when browsing the Porsche group one afternoon -- spotted kerridges add at the top and thought -- hang on their just up the road.

Popped in to see Stephen Kerridge and his father -- did a few runs in the 2.5 and then the 3R and bought the car that afternoon. Now 53 plater Ti Silver 3R.

Took the wife in it on Saturday for the first time :-) and even she liked it (doesn't sound so mean -- shes well and truly pregant and getting in/out is not so easy with the bump).

Every time I use the day (almost daily) it brings a smile :-) Especially the underground car park at the station with the Vegantune BOV and a cold exhaust.

This is now the longest time I've kept ANY car at 12months, previous 911/M3/TVR have managed alot less typically. I'll be keeping this one for another year at least -- do Noble do baby sets :-) ?

Driving approx midnight after a hot summers day. On a short stretch of dual carraigeway between the north and south terminals of Gatwick Airport. The road was empty but for a group of police vehicles blocking the inside lane facing in all directions, blue lights on and surrounding a silver M12 that seemed to be undamaged and was parked at right angles to the barrier. I thought it was the most beutiful car I had ever seen and went on a mission from that day to try to find out what it was and obviously, finances permitting, Get one. 12 months later i've done it!

I can't remember where I first saw the M12.
Knew I just had to have one though. The fact that I got the best colour was just a bonus

I wasn't looking for a car but had tried a couple of Fezzas and a 911TT just to keep my eye in, as you do. Then one day I wandered into my local TVR dealer to find they were selling Nobles and had a test drive in a GTO 3 with 5 speed box (the gearbox wasn't much good).

I dithered a fair bit, wasn't sure about the wing on the back, but was damn sure about the driving experience. So I eventually ordered an M400 just as it was about to sweep the board with motoring awards. - Lucky timing!

The M400 was much better than the GTO 3 I'd driven.
What a lucky g*it (before anyone else says it again).

Fell in love with the Nobles about 3 years ago when my wife (now naively!) bought me a track day. I drove a 996, Viper, Diablo, Exige, and the Noble 2.5. No brainer really!!

When I was a passenger on my first factory test drive around the back roads of Barwell and the precise point was when the I felt the first kick off the turbo's while over taking a truck with only 80 yards to go to a sharp left hand bend. Cant remember the the name of who was driving but hope he got paid the comission.

Never ever ever been so scared in all my life but the fear cost me £56,000 plus dirty import Irish tax!

STill worth every penny!
