So, my 450 was running great. I did a trip to Paris and back with almost no issues. But now the car has been sitting for 2.5 weeks, and the idle is high when coming to a stop. Once fully stopped, the idle drops below 1000 rpm. Does anyone know what could be causing this issue or how to fix it?

My 5.0L on Hotwire 400se did this a lot. It’s still not brilliant but anlot better since cleaning the stepper motor and ensuring no air leaks. N8W8 said:
The throttle cable operates very smoothly, and when the engine is cold, it starts without any throttle input and idles nicely. I replaced the stepper motor with a spare one, but that didn t solve the issue. If there were any air leaks, wouldn t that also cause it to idle poorly?
Have you checked the stepper motor operation?...as said it may be sticking, there are 2 fuses i have been told...one which is in the engine bay apparently controls idle?...you might need also to recalibrate your ECU with rover gauge or ECU-mate if you can find one!An air leak would most definitely effect idle...could be anywhere from hoses to around plenum or even manifold gasket...test your CTS...coolant temperature sensor also as it might be going into "Limp" mode if getting wrong reading.
