Hi all,

I m considering an Apple CarPlay upgrade for the Alpine A110, specifically the Evox system.

Before going any further, I d like to hear from anyone with real-world experience:

Has anyone here installed it?
How stable is Apple CarPlay in daily use?
Boot time from cold start?
Any lag, crashes, or connection issues?
Does everything OEM still work properly (camera, controls, etc.)?
Overall: worth it or not?
If you have it installed, or have seen one in person, I d really appreciate your feedback.

Thanks,
Martin

I have seen at least two people with the system installed posting on the Alpine A110 Facebook group. If you have FB, it might be good to post there.

Here it is on eBay or can sort something directly.

Thanks for the info. What was driving your decision not doing this upgrade? Your experience would be very helpful. Thanks in advance!

Has anyone here installed it? Not EVOX version, but the Joying system & MyAlpDroid that EVOX based their offering.
How stable is Apple CarPlay in daily use? Very stable, at least Android Auto is for me, & from what I've heard from people using CarPlay it's the same.
Boot time from cold start? About a minute, but it has a big capacitor, so boot is virtually instaneous if you been in the car in the last few hours.
Any lag, crashes, or connection issues? No, or hardly ever. My problem is always lack of mobile coverage.
Does everything OEM still work properly (camera, controls, etc.)? Yes, it should. I added a reverse cam myself, but EVOX system should make it all work.
Overall: worth it or not? Umm, not at that price for me. I'm more of a DIY guy, looking for better value. I love my Joying/MyAlpdroid install at the price I paid.
If you have it installed, or have seen one in person, I d really appreciate your feedback. The install will look totally OEM. I have the 3D print files if you want to mount your own Joying screen & connect it, or have a shop do it for you. Have you read the "all things infotainment" thread?

Thanks,
Martin
