Totting up after being caught for 46mph in a 40mph zone and 78mph in a roadwork-restricted temporary 50mph zone.

"£1,329 in fines, costs and victim surcharges." Yikes!

AIUI 78 in a 50 would be a band C fine, so starting point is 6 points and 150% of weekly income...

Is it? Not just in line with how it works given the fine is a % of income?

SP is before discount for a guilty plea.

If early guilty plea then the defendant is entitled to one-third credit.

Also, there is a statutory maximum unrelated to income. Speeding offences are level 3 (£1000) or level 4 (£2500) if motorway.

The maximum fine excludes the 40% victim surcharge and prosecution costs.

You may safely assume earnings of more than £1k net per week. Therefore, the fine is a function of the statutory maximum rather than a percentage of income.

Two offences before the court.

I have not seen breakdown but would expect £200 fine + £666 fine + £346 surcharge + £100 costs.

Keep up Pica-Pica, he’s a national treasure!

“Yes, Guy Martin is widely considered a British national treasure. A former motorcycle racer and skilled mechanic, he earned this reputation through his candid, down-to-earth personality and infectious enthusiasm as a television presenter on numerous engineering-based Channel 4 documentaries.

Charismatic TV Personality: Known for his unfiltered, honest, and passionate presenting style in shows like The Boat that Guy Built and various speed record attempts.

Talented Mechanic/Racer: While he never won an Isle of Man TT race, he was one of the world's best racers and continued his career as a commercial lorry mechanic, retaining a down-to-earth persona.

"Everyman" Appeal: Fans find him approachable and authentic, with a relentless work ethic and passion for mechanics, often referred to as a "tea-drinking, unassuming all-around nice guy".

Record Breaker: He has set multiple speed records on specialized vehicles, including the highest speed on a vertical Wall of Death.”

This is PH and you don't know who Guy Martin is? Yeah, ok. I'll take the whoosh, it must be a subtle one. As for caring, I don't think anyone's requested that from you, or anyone else.
