Toasters

Apparently we need a new toaster in the 169 household. Has to be 4 slice, preferably 4x1 rather than 2x2 and ideally dual control.
Is there really any reason\necessity to spend £130 on a Dualit over £50 on say a Russell Hobbs?

Probably overthinking it (it's a only bloomin toaster!) but anything else I should be looking at?

The Dualit is a classic model... but I suppose toast is toast and any toaster will do.

I bought a Sage one last year - £99 - expensive, but it looks nice.

That particular Dualit misses out on the Classic model's main selling points, simplicity, durability and repairability.

I can recommend the De Longhi 4slice jobbie. We're on our second one, good browning control and takes crumpets and other doorsteps, replaced not cos the first one broke but because we decorated the kitchen.

I was sort of making a different point - they rate the trad Dualit as a bit rubbish, for instance. In fact none of the 'premium' ones are rated, except for Zwilling.

That Haden one that Bonefish has linked to apparently takes a full size Hovis slice according to one of the reviews.

Think it's going to be the winner !

There review actually has a video of it taking a Warbutons slice so it looks like a good bet.

Same. I did an overhaul on a 6 slice Dualit, even bought the genuine spanner. Was a satisfying covid side project.

Still going strong. No regrets. Yes it was expensive but it was worth it IMO

Our 2 slot Dualit is 36 years old and I've replaced one of the elements once many years ago.

Apart from some inherited Pirex, it's the oldest thing in our kitchen.
