The Fuel gauge low level warning light doesn't work on my early 1994 Chim.
It's the cream/white faced, black bezel Cearbont type.
It's never worked since I had the car, so I don't know what colour the lamp sould be, as I don't think it's ever been tampered with, is there any trick to getting it working again?
Does anyone have any home repair suggestions please, not that it's probably not very accurate, just that if it's there, it must work, if you know what I mean!
Cheers,
Phil.

Hi Phil, seen a number of fuel level gauge problems on various forums.
My first check would be to extract the sender from the tank and have a look at the 'workings'. Read one post where the electrical connections had been broken.
If the sender itself checks out, then I guess it's time to get the multi meter out and check for continuity in the wiring?

Good luck, hope it's an easy fix.

A lot of cars didn't have it connected, it's worth having a look in the boot first around the sender area for spare wires.

As said it has it's own feed from the sender to the gauge. Worth checking at the sender and under the dash top in case the wire is not plugged in to the rear of the gauge.

Thanks gents, recently had the dash apart to fix my Speedo Mileometer zeroing issue, didn't notice any loose wires on the rear of the gauge, but will check in the other possible issue areas and report back.
Many thanks for the replies.
Cheers,
Phil.
