MM 2027 & a whinge
Discussion
Just been graciously offered a last chance to buy tickets for next year’s Member’s Meeting, (before I have ironed the trousers I wore to this year’s) and I am dissapointed by the price to be honest.

Members make Goodwood Road Racing Club what it is.
We are guaranteed footfall, guaranteed income & pay a reasonable price to be members.
What we get in return is debatable & each person will make their own value judgement based on their own feelings, but at a time when Goodwood is hugely popular & established the offered price for MM84 feels like gouging.
It’s well above inflation & last year was £153 per person for the same event.
I’m not expecting anything to change, but would have expected a 3-5% increase year on year, not nearly 18%!

I joined in 1999 and left a few years ago as prices kept creeping up and I wasn't able to make as many events as before, and I also wasn't enjoying the events I did go to as much as I did maybe a decade ago. Now when I go I'll buy a package and enjoy it that way I stead. On another thread I saw about the Monaco historic GP which is now on my bucket list.
It is up to you people,. if they think they can fleece people they will try. You have to realise how ruthless event marketing works, you all had a great time, it was nice weather, so why not, that is how they operate, I also detest and loath the idea you buy this and it no doubt sits in a high interest account for nearly a year, that is rude, aggressive and almost predatory in my view.
But this is how this place and most events companies work. The answer is simple, don't go,. if it happens enough the price will drop or the event will stop, and it will obviously be your fault because you did not buy a ticket or support this "long running historic event at blah blah blah"
Remember March pleading with people a few years ago on the grid at F1 to try and get people going because ticket sales were poor.
It is a money making machine, dont forget.

I am confused.... Bought my 84th MM weekend tickets yesterday and got charged £161 + £5 booking fee.It s well above inflation & last year was £153 per person for the same event.

Edit: I didn't read that properly... the posted picture includes a program voucher and a grandstand.... so, I have been 'done'.
Still confused.
Seems remarkably quick off the mark. More freshly laid egg than early bird.
Membership though is always contentious and whether it's worthwhile is very much dependent on whether you think a) it's a cost equivalent to an average Sky package so not worth thinking about or b) what vfm you place on it based on your personal circumstances.
Fellowship is a cheap route if you want the cheapest form of membership and will only use a limited number of benefits. No form of membership is compulsory so it's not something to get excited about. Just pay for individual events (bar Members' ones obvs) and if you don't think they're worth it, don't go.
Example, I think the British GP is wildly overpriced so I don't go. What I also don't do is go every year and complain about the cost. I feel the same way about Harry Styles gigs.
