So I’ve decided to sell my GSX1400. 2006, 3 owners. Just under 30000 miles and in very good condition.
Did a we buy any bike quote, as I really just want rid now, so if they had offered me £3500 I would have taken it.
Initial response, was can’t give you a price straight away, our team will look at it. Fair enough.
This morning I got 7 emails, all saying, we can’t make an offer because of the mileage! Not sure why 7 emails, I only did one quote.
Anyway, they obviously don’t “buy any bike!”
So I guess I will put it on autotrader.

Superbike factory will have that off you. They made me a decent offer for a SV650.

I’d do marketplace and eBay over AT.

Seems they are which I didn’t know.

If you want it gone without the hassle of a private sale try calling your nearest Superbike factory. I’m quite surprised they didn’t make an offer.

I did a quote the other week on we buy any bike, came back with a good offer, anyway went to book in a appointment then got a call saying the system had overpriced the bike, apparently anything over £9k has to go for approval and they had a new offer for me, £2k less than initially offered, suffice to say I told them it'll be a pass...

That’s a lovely looking thing.
It was a toss up between one of them or another XJR for me earlier this year after my short affair with an S1000R.
Ended up with the Yamaha as there was one popped up right on the doorstep in the local dealers.
Cheap at 3500k I’d say

On the flip side I sold my Z900RS to them and they paid what I was hoping for, collected when they said they would and cleared the finance immediately.

Funnily enough one of my other bikes is this. So I can give you a direct comparison and there is very little between them. Arguably the Suzuki has slightly better suspension and is a bit quicker, but really I am not a good enough rider to tell the difference! The Suzuki is probably a bit more comfortable, except the seat is slightly wider at the front, which would not be a problem except I have an artificial hip and for some reason it hurts putting feet on the ground. The Yamaha doesn’t. I prefer the looks of the Yamaha.
It will be a very cheap buy at £3500 as it’s a great bike.

I foolishly sold my last XJR to make me use the BMW more, that was a mistake and lesson soon learned there. The BMW was and is an outstanding bike, just not for me after owning it a few months. Went from 2 bikes to no bikes in a short space of time. Picked up an 09 plate XJR though so normal service has resumed.
If this had been January when I had no bike and a pocket full of cash I’d probably be on my to you for that GSX though.

All of them seem to have gone downhill. O/T but carwow are now awful imho Vs used to give great prices even just a few years ago.

Yup, £2k more than they paid me and only £1.5k less than you could buy a new one for, it was immaculate and needed zero prep, I guess the profit is in the finance.

Im guessing they respond more favourably if they have a buyer lined up. The best storage facility is your house before they pay.

Im still getting emails about my ninja 400 ( it was actually a zx4rr ) a year ish after I requested a price on it , I can’t see they’ve a buyer for the bike now even if they had one at the time , and to be honest I’d not think there’s much demand for a ninja 400 .
Seeing the offer I got originally for the ninja 400 I think there intrested in anything if it’s cheap enough .

Evidently they aren’t interested in a GSX1400 at any price!

Of the 2,000+ bikes they have I can’t see any gsx1400 currently for sale with them.

Weird. I wonder if they got unlucky with a couple and now computer says no.
