2013 B8 Audi RS4
Discussion
So after my last car being stolen (goodbye little fiesta ST you was amazing!) I had to bite the bullet and buy a new car and well it felt like it was time to upgrade
Having looked for something that was ULEZ compliant as I commute into central London each day limited my fun car options but would you believe a 4.2 V8 qualified as ULEZ exempt . So after some digging I found this little beauty
Now if only the Middle East can sort itself out as it s a little bit thirsty (I had an RX8 before so used to thirsty cars) but it would be helpful if pump prices could come down - in comfort mode it is the nicest mileage muncher I've been in, stick it in dynamic mode and it comes alive as an absolute animal on the road. It's also roomy enough to easily fit my scuba diving equipment crates in the boot without any issue which is a first for me!

That’s a 9/10 for me - probably my personal favourite everyday car. I know most people prefer the earlier version but I love the styling on this one. The RS6 is a bit OTT for me, but this is a perfect family car.
On the downside the all-in running/ownership costs are a bit much for me, and having owned a Golf R wagon for a while I know these sorts of cars attract attention from all the wrong types. Those quibbles aside, it’s a lovely car. All the best with it

Looks lovely, you can't beat that rear quarter arch shot. Well done for being environmentally aware and dailying a V8! Any more details??
It's pretty well spec'd with the full wing back leather bucket seats, flat bottom steering wheel, full carbon fibre interior pack, 20" wheels (although these are being changed over to a set of rotiforms shortly) alongside a little bit more carbon fibre around the car - and I have no frickin clue why the wing mirrors are a silver that doesn't appear anywhere else on the vehicle!!! In terms of performance spec it's a 4.2-litre naturally aspirated V8 FSI engine producing 450 PS (444 bhp/331 kW) at 8,250 rpm and 317 lb-ft (430 Nm) of torque, with a 7 speed dual clutch gearbox and permanent 4wd 0-60 claimed at 4.7 but with the way this pulls it feels quicker than that. For those wondering about running costs - so far I'm pretty fortunate having grown up in the motor trade with a dad and a lot of friends who are mechanics / garage owners so I'm not feeling that pinch too hard at the minute but I'm aware that when something does go it wont be the cheapest to fix... cruising into London through the average 50mph average speed cameras that I commute through it will happily creep up to 31mpg if I leave it on cruise control
very tempted to have it mapped to remove the limiter and get it up to a private airfield track day to see what it really tops out at... 175+ is what I've seen these reportedly able to get up too which feels insane from a wagon
so far it's upset anything that's wanted to have a play including a new V8 M3 and most recently a turbod S2k

Fab. Really like these. Is yours DRC dampers? Interested to see how you get on with them. Lot of scare stories which I assume are over inflated.
It is - it’s something I’ve read a lot about and conscious of keeping an eye on, sadly the suspension is also confirmed from Audi ‘to have a bit of a knock at times’ so it’s hard to tell if there is anything up but having had a good look round it’s all fine for now - long may it continue Gassing Station | Readers' Cars | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
