I hope somebody has first hand experience of this.

The internet says it has a cassette gearbox, 2 seperate mechanics say not and the engine has to come out.

It had me off at Oulton Park so I want to change 2,3 and 4th for Nova racing kit.

I had a 2011 and it had a gearbox fault, from the time I looked into it i believe the earlier blades had the casette (maybe <2008) but I seem to remember the 2011 didn't. I sold it to a friend who put another engine in it.

I had a 2008, so same generation. I don't think it had a cassette gearbox...

I rebuilt my 2006 gearbox so I know for sure the 2004-2007 models are cassette style, but afraid all the years later need the cases split.

Thanks chaps.

Is it an easy job to drop the engine out?

Mechanic reckons on about £1500,all labour and fluids, parts not included.
Labour cost is heavily reduced if I just drop off the engine and he just does the gearbox.

Depends how much spannering experience you have. If you've got some and a mate to help its not too bad. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQ9YKcs9_kM
