Got a problem of my own now...

I have got a card reader plugged into the Mobo, and fitted in a Floppy Disk bay, it has the usual features for card readers, plus a USB port.
I have tried to use the USB port and everything is knackered. The sound in XP that you hear when you plug in then remove Hardware (da-ding, di-dong) keeps playing repeatedly again and again. I know it's the reader because it's On light almost flashes in time with the sound.
For now I have deleted the sounds :D That's a temporary fix hehe
Other solution is remove the cable connecting the reader to the motherboard, but I would rather keep the reader to be honest.
I've tried removing the USB Root Hubs in Device Manager, but after a restart, it goes back again.

Any help very much appreciated!

So you've unplugged whatever was plugged into it, and it's still going big-bong all the time? You could try disabling the device manager wotsit rather than removing it, worth a shot.

Yeah had tried things like that beforehand, I've got her cracked open now, just unplugged and moved to different 'pins' (as I call 'em) on the Motherboard.

If I'd have taken that to PC world they'd have had no idea Wish I could get a Part Time PC Repair job, I'd be loaded by now judging by the amount of free work round friends/family (Only 16 in a couple of days too )
Us PistonHeads lot can't be beat!

Thanks for the quick response aldi!

Dave.

If only potential employers wouldn't assume someone who is under 17 is a half brained chav, I would
Anyone here looking to employ?

Dave.
