What is the most recent vehicle model to be entirely extinct. Not just a trim level or special edition, but a complete model line, and which would be the one with the most precipitous decline - once really popular, and now gone for ever. Not even a SORN example.

The newest model with none left on the road? Probably quite hard to work that out. It'll probably be something very expensive and very rare which have all been exported.

There's always going to be odd examples tucked away of cars that sold in any number.

I was thinking of niche modern cars that sold in low numbers, along the lines of the Suzuki Kizashi, or really any Daewoo or Perodua.

Daewoo Nexia (1995–1997)

The Nexia was the first car Daewoo launched in the UK. Because it was based on the older Vauxhall Astra (Mk2) platform, it felt dated even when new.
Peak Number: Roughly 25,000 (combined across all 3-door, 4-door, and 5-door GLi and GTX variants).
Current Status: 0 Taxed across all variant names on How Many Left (some variations may show 1 or 2 on SORN, but active road-taxed examples have effectively hit zero).
The "Newest" Factor: It only went on sale in 1995. To have a car that was selling in the thousands just 30 years ago completely disappear from the road is a rare statistical feat.
I told gemini to look at howmanyleft and give me a model where none are taxed currently (across all variants) but at its peak had more than 5000, and to show the newest. Above is what it spat out, on this occasion I think I believe it.

Not extinct, but when did you last see a Montego estate?

Good shout, I'd forgotten all about them, and 30 years seems like pretty recent.

Audi e-tron

Released in 2019 withdrawn by 2023 I think. Morphed into the Q8 e-tron.

I’ve just brought one for 19k (77k new) with 48k miles on,from a main dealer as well. Bargain.

Whilst it sounds like a bargain and a great purchase, I think you would be hard pushed to say it's extinct if you have one hehe

Amazingly, it seems there are still some Tata Safaris on the road, I really expected those to be a good candidate for total extinction.

Honda Acty Vans and Citroen C15 vans. Both popular courier vehicles back in my day. Mid 80s.

Although I've not seen any C15s here in the UK for years they are still going strong in the Canaries even though the last ones made were in the 90s.

Unfortunately it's wrong: 11 on the road and 142 SORN....

The Hyundai Stellar is closerto zero, but even that still has 2 on the road and 18 SORN. Over 11000 on the road in the 1990s apparently, but I can't recall ever seeing one but may have done and thought it was a Cortina.

One of these emerged in the last couple of years, but those and the Yugo Sana (another which recently came in the 'scene') are quite close.

Chap I know has a Stellar, and there was a V8 powered one around in the last couple of years.

Lucky you. hehe I only ever saw pictures and a data listing, in What Car or maybe Parker's. The useless information I retain in my memory when I could be remembering useful stuff.

Not sure SORN is a good measure. Cars can stay SORN indefinitely, even if they’ve descended into dust…

I didn't think there would be any Vauxhall Sintras left (my dad had one) but according to that 'How many left' website, there are.
