I attended the 20th anniversary breakfast club yesterday and thought I would just post on here about how good it was.

probably the largest number of cars and motorcycles I have ever seen them pack into the circuit for one of these events. all three Paddocks were full and there were also cars around the circuit stretching halfway down the lavant straight.

lots of spectators as well as you would expect, but the weather was good and it didn't feel overcrowded. there can't be many events that have such an eclectic mix of vehicles on display in a fantastic location.

top marks to the Marshalls, who I expect are volunteers, for their brilliant work in getting so many vehicles parked and for their courteous and polite manner in doing so.

Goodwood get quite a lot of flack on here for overcharging and milking the punters. but I think GRRC membership is great value and this is a perfect example of them putting in quite a bit of work for, I expect, practically no return apart from Goodwill amongst the members and the public.

I didn't take many photos but I thought this one exemplified the vast range of vehicles on display.

not sure what this is based on but it's road registered and the owner drove it to the event....

Baffled me too. Having had a bit of look round I would suggest in might be an old Formula Ford or similar adopted into a road car. It had a space frame chassis for a start but I'm really not sure how its going to manage not to overheat in the summer.

Still the owner clearly had a vision, he did it and good for him. A BAC Mono on a budget.

Anyway here s my photos from yesterday.

An absolutely astounding mix of cars. One of the best selection I have ever seen at a Breakfast Club. That little gold Colt Celeste special edition was apparently one of only 79 in the world and looked like brand new. A fantastic morning, not too crowded, spot on weather and there was a lovely MX-5 on the grid too. wink

Note to A993LAD, you might want to change the thread title to 20th Anniversary Breakfast Club as the GRRC one was a couple of months ago. smile

Good point, but I don't think I can edit the title once the thread is live. Perhaps the Mods can do it???

It really was quite something. Museum quality but so good to see it on the road.

Just had another thought about this. You don't think this could be something to do with The Grand Tour re-boot that Amazon are doing? scratchchin

The internet says it’s 500cc.
I hope it’s got a turbo because otherwise it won’t be able to get out of its own way. Doubt it’s a high tuned bike engine because I’m sure it had a gated five speed.

this had a for sale sign on it if anybody's interested. I was particularly drawn to the hub caps and wondered whether you could source another one in the event the original came flying off on a pothole and was lost.?

I was there as well (had a car parked on the track)

I thought it was an ace event, Goodwood breakfast club as its best, really wide variety of cars
