did this on Saturday in bad inside-misting conditions:

-> right dial to the 'screen' setting
-> centre dial to 'Auto'
-> Econ button off
-> left dial to around the '20 degree' mark (though this will vary on conditions).

Cleared it a treat.

As a side-note, if you have tried these but without success then maybe the aircon needs regassing?

Don't know much about the 3200GT aircon, but it could well be Alfa-sourced (a number of 3200GT bits are), in which case it needs to be used on a regular basis to remain in a good state.

I think as a general rule ALL air-con units need to be used regularly to avoid problems

the 3200 uses Alfa parts? Our 156 air-con is blimmin' useless!!

Also worth checking you haven't got the "recirculate" button on (if it's got one). You'll want to ensure damp air isn't being kept in the car.

Best setting I've found is - middle dial to "auto" and right hand dial to "max". This blasts the windscreen and turns the heated rear screen on at the same time. It clears the screens very quickly.

Yep, works on mine.

Spicy's solution works for me too. Just make sure the Econ is OFF which can actually cause condensation rather than removing it.

If the aircon needs recharging, this should not affect demisting since you are applying heat rather than refridgeration or at least you should be.

As with Ferrari, A/c parts, are almost certainly bought in and not manufactured in house. I believe the Fiat group uses Denso compressors and therefore so would Alfa, Ferrari and indeed Maserati. Denso also supply Mercedes, Porsche, BMW etc and are the world's largest OE supplier of a/c equipment so don't despair.

Precisely what other parts do you believe are sourced from (rather shared with) Alfa? Model / year for cross reference would be useful.

I own an AR GTV 3.0 built in 2000, the same year as my 3200GT, and the following bits look or feel similar:

(Note that much of this is impressionist evidence - I haven't been deliberately looking out for this, and the fact that they seem similar is no guarantee that they are indeed alfa-shared parts)

> electric window system
> OBD plugs
> glove compartment electronics (e.g. boot opener)
> some warning lights
> brake/clutch fluid reservoir
> fuel guage
> air-con vents (pointed out by someone else)

The more critical visible parts (e.g. the GTV's poor quality Bosch AFM) - as you would hope and expect - don't appear to be shared.

There may be one or two more, but these are the ones that occur to me now.

Agreed! I bought my GTV 3.0 last year for around 10K, I've scarcely put any miles on it and have improved it with aftermarket pads, discs, exhaust etc, and it's now worth nearer 6K!

oh, and I think the wiper electrics are shared between the GTV and the Maserati too.
