Appliance Waste.

Plumbing a new washing machine and dryer (heat pump) which are about 2m away from sink but right next to the main 40mm waste outflow.

I'm less sure about using an open standpipe these days and would prefer to use a u-bend with appliance connectors (jubilee clip type). Like this:

My question is, to avoid gurgling from the sink when washing machine on (which is 2m away and would be only source of air from this area of house) could I add a bit of pipe and an air admittance valve above my appliance connector?

Plug the undersink one closed. Use a 40mm Compression onto the upstand pipe and use this..

I’ve got this on the end of a standpipe with a trap below. It has an air admittance hole.

Presume air hole is fine and far enough from where water sloshes through it all so it doesn't come out? Reviews seem ok.

Kind of what I was going to build but my air hole would be a foot higher up.
