We are due to travel to Spa to watch the Spa classic in a couple of weeks and are crossing via the tunnel.
Anyone any recent experience on what to expect ?
Has the introduction of EES caused any issues, do we need to arrive at the tunnel checking 3 days before we need to cross to ensure we get on our scheduled crossing ???

Cheers,

Wasn't doing it at easter - although it changes everytime I go to the tunnel - the roads around the car park etc.

We go in June - I think was it October this year they were hopefully going to have it all set up (or are all the new bits for lorries?).

My understanding is that it’s all ready our side, but apparently the French are not.

I went through a week ago and no real changes on the road. Work in the terminal is ongoing, where you’d normally grab a coffee and maybe look at the screens.

Why don’t they set up temp centres around the country where you can register before going to airport. Isn’t that a good idea?

Went through last weekend, and you still bypass the EES sheds. The only change is they don't stamp your passports anymore so there's some element of computerisation in effect.

Hope it’s ok to jump on your thread - We have a couple of tunnel and ferry trips to Calais in June, July and August. Will the EES be happening on ferry crossings at all?

I've got my fingers crossed the EES still won't be in use by late July/early August!

No idea how they plan to make it work with the tunnel.

Used to be such an easy process, rolling on and off whilst checking out the various interesting cars making the journey.

There’s a larger, more general thread https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
