GPU upgrade time!

I have a vintage GTX 970 in my current PC (purchased all the way back in 2015) which really needs upgrading now. I don't game on the PC any more but having upgraded some camera stuff recently, the GPU is struggling with things like AI denoise in Lightroom and processing HEVC videos.
ChatGPT is suggesting me to upgrade to an RTX 4070 Super 12GB which go for around £400 used - is this a good option or is it overkill for non-gaming tasks? Would an Intel B580 suffice? (who knew they made dedicated GPUs now!) Should I go with the 5070 for £500 with a warranty? Or 5060Ti with 16GB VRAM as that seems to be important? AMD? Wait for the AI bubble to burst and just leave the PC on overnight running the denoise as I'm doing currently? Decisions decisions...

What PSU do you have? Does it have enough spare capacity for possibly double the power requirements of a new GPU?
If you're specifically looking for something for Lightroom AI Denoise, then (according to PugetBench) the 5060Ti is about 20% faster than a 4070 Super...and the basic 5070 is slower than the 5060Ti which I assume is due to the lower VRAM.

But the 5070 has the newer NVENC cores, so would be faster in processing HEVC videos.
The Intel hardware video cores are good at video too, but the range of scored for the PugetBench data are all over the place, so can't see what the true performance is (e.g. average AI score is 20% lower than a 4070, but individual AI scores are all higher).

But of course, you'll find plenty of new Intel ARC B580s for significantly cheaper than new/used 40/50 series Nvidia RTX GPUs.
Sorry, but I couldn't find any current Lightroom AI benchmarks for the 970 to compare...but in the older, overall non-AI Lightroom Classic benchmark the 4070 Super is about 2x the performance...

850W, I think it should be fine as the TDP of the cards I'm looking at are around 200-250W and maximum power draw of my system according to online calculators is around 600W.mmm-five said:

Yes, you are correct, and that probably explains why I was confused about the flipping of score in the AI average and AI denoise results...as one is a total score and the other is a timed basis I have a degree in mathematics but these charts make my head hurt

The full table is further down the page and does show the results in seconds! So yes in the denoise function the 5060Ti is slower, but in the overall AI workload it's faster!
First thing I was taught in displaying data was to always label your X/Y/Z axes so you and your audience know what's being displayed!

Ended up following the ChatGPT suggestion and got a 4070 Super 12GB off eBay. Great irony in using the tools which have pushed up GPU prices so much to choose my next GPU 
Denoise in Lightroom has gone from 3-5 mins to 10-15s and the AI related adaptive profiles load in a couple of seconds compared to not at all previously.
Haven't played any games on PC in 10 years but tempted to get back into it now!
