some fool in the staff car park
Discussion
Has reversed into my car. From the damage I can see, it would appear to have been quite a hard knock. Unfortunately they didn't leave a note!!!!
Why am I surprised!!!!!
The near side indicator is now no longer attached to the car - save for some parcel tape. The headlight is skew, and there appear to be a couple of cracks - albeit small at the moment - to the front clam.
I've contacted the insurance, and they are happy to let the car go to a Lotus garage. My question is, how long will it take for the full effect of the damage to show through? I seem to recall somewhere that the fibreglass takes a while to show the damage through the paint. Should I wait for a couple of weeks before getting the insurance engineer to have a look at the repair quote? I don't see why I should pay the excess and have the bodyshell repaired, I want it replaced.
Cheers, Andrew.

If it's the staff car park, I'd ask colleagues if they saw anything or check with security - they may have video evidence. Even complain to management. I take it spaces aren't permanent? Or have a look at damaged cars in the car park tomorrow. Personally I'd be pushing to getting someone the sack...

Agree with Kevin. Make a BIG issue of it at work. Raise with management, where was it parked?
Ask everyone in the office who was parking where and try to narrow it down. Any coloured marks on your car which could show what colour car hit it? If there are any flecks of paint see if you can get them off. If you have suspicions it can be proved forensically if need be by the cops to match another car.
Also check to see who brings in another (different) car perhaps tomorrow, or check all cars in the carpark for damage.
Could it have been a visitor or delivery driver?
Very sorry for you mate, could end up being expensive.

Have sent a mail out to the colleagues who work for the same company, so hopefully some feedback tomorrow. There are another 2 companies in the building.
Had a chat before leaving with security, as there are lots of cameras. And guess what... this is like a film story line. There have been no tapes in the video recording equipment for a couple of days!!!!!
As you can imagine I am mightly pi$$ed off, especially as I have only had the car back from a warranty paint work fix - to the back of the car.
Intend to raise it with anyone and everyone starting first thing tomorrow.
Haven't noticed any paint, just a bit of black from the bumper - but will check more carefully in the daylight. Unfortunately there are too many people / cars to try and work out if a different one turns up tomorrow. It has to be a staff member though - which makes it worse if I don't find out who it is. Part of me is still hoping that the person will do the right thing, but somehow I doubt it!!!!

Unfortunately it is extremely doubtful they will even want to know - private car park & no-one hurt.
Would be worth walking round the car park as the other bumper would probably have some mark if it's marked your paintwork.
Feel for you

For sure the other car will have some damages but I doubt that he or she will take the same car in the same parking for a while after the incident without leaving a letter.
I would check myself if sudently someone is using wife/husband's car, is not coming by car for a few days,...
I would let as many people know what happend, believing that which such an attitude he or she must not have only friends and maybe someone will let you know what he heard about your car...
Hope the best for you, really sorry the read that...

Had exactly the same a couple of years ago in my Esprit. Found the chap downstairs in his silver Skoda who had a lovely yellow streak across his back bumper! Thankfully it buffed out on mine without problem. But I did have to find the perpetrator myself - they didn't come to me. Have a good inspection around the car park when you are able.
Best of luck.
Best of luck.

Good news ![]()
The driver of the other car has been in touch. So although a bit of a pain as something needs sorting out, the good news is that insurance excess, NCB etc all remain as they should be.
Nice one - at least there are some people in the world with a conscience still.
Shame the w@nkers who live down my road who continually bump and scrap my car aren't so willing to admit their clumsiness. Found the first proper scrape on El Beast II last weekend whilst buffing. To say I'm f**&ing livid would be an understatement.
Still, only 2 weeks before I get my new gates and hard-standing on my back garden then the wee chap can get tucked up nice and safe when I'm not there.

Cheers guys. Took the car to get the insurance assessment done this morning.
Tim - why is it that people are just that clumsy. I think that sometimes the small little scraps are the worst thing. Love the car by the way. I was thinking of getting an S1 S160 but was wasn't sure I could live with it day to day. It does look a cracking car though.
Cheers
Andrew.
