Does anybody have any experience with any of the roll cabs complete with tools in purpose cut foam inserts?

Are they well built? Are the draws nice to use? The tools themselves?

Some examples.

I think similar to what you've linked to: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/314928580037

My pal has this, also has a number of BGS tools that he's spugged in it as well (we both use a lot of BGS stuff as it's well made, solid and not silly expensive); and we fully stripped his 2002 E39 M5 down with his kit & mine, with zero issues, and only snapped 2 ratchets because we were being too heavy handed

Would highly recommend it on that basis and if I didn't have all the tools I have and the crappy roller-cab I bought; I'd absolutely buy that kit

Interesting, that’s a decent price.

Very and as said, it was good stuff...

The thing is it will be missing parts you'll end up needing - more so like eTorx bits/sockets, 4 to 7mm hex sockets for BMW brakes or similar and then ratchet spanners etc

I nearly bought something similar, but I just bought a roll-cab and then put the tools in I had already, and then added others inc. this BGS tool set which has been invaluable since I bought it a few years ago:

And then I've numerous sets of very long, long, medium and small ratchet spanner sets and normal spanner sets - which have all come in really handy at times and glad I bought them

I've got them all wall mounted on VonHaus magnetic tool holders: https://www.amazon.co.uk/VonHaus-Magnetic-Tool-Hol...

US Pro stuff is often not at all bad for the quite low price, but I have no experience of their roller cabinets.

Ideally, if you can get an opportunity to have an actual poke around an example, you can see how solid it feels, and how smooth the drawers are etc.

You don't want really cheap and nasty, as they're just a bit frustrating to use, but at the same time, there's no point paying for something that's suitable for a commercial workshop if you'll never work it as hard as a full time mechanic will.

I got a load of tools in foam and took them out,

They are not an efficient use of space
Get grubby quite quickly
You are stuck to the tools they provide
If you lose or bust a tool you need to buy the same one or have an ill fitting one.

I took the tools out of the foam and set them up like this.

Nice, where did you get the organisers from?

I have loads of tools, just need a tidy solution, along with a new box/roll cab.

Wish I could be this neat and tidy - amazing

Foam inserts look smart but sods law says it's not very long until you buy another tool and then you have the problem of it not fitting any where. Or you lose something or it breaks and you have to buy an exact same sized replacement and can't.
