can anyone tell me what sinkage is on a fibreglass body and how to cure it when using a celly primer?

Hi
just googled 'sinkage' and found a site that confirmed my opinion, which is to just make sure that any bodyfiller you use is COMPLETELY CURED!! before painting, this can take some time but its worth the wait rather than spoiling the job. www.renaukt4.uk/renault-4-repainting.ntm

When I recently sprayed my TVR I used a two part Etch Primer. I had read that it would adhere better to the fibreglass than ordinary cellulose. Although there appears to be conflicting views on this (even at the paint factors where I bought the stuff!) The data sheet clearly specified that it was for use on Aluminium, stainless and GRP.

I just had this confirmed while in my paint supplier. He recommended 'Acid 8' as the best primer for Fibreglass. It apparently goes on like water but makes a real difference to the adhesion of paint over the top of it.

definatly dont bother with celli primer ..

acid 8 would be ok to use as an etch, you can get it in aerosol form (upol do it) but imho just use 2k primer ..
what kind of repair are you talking about?
