Never had a job. Professional politician. Officially on maneuvers.

What could possibly go wrong

He is much better than any other possible contender except Mahmood.

Just a shame he has no chance once it gets to the membership and Mandelson gets back in the news in a couple of weeks.

It seems to me there is no-one remotely worthy of being a street cleaner let alone PM in the current Labour Party.

He is also a Fabian Society activist, like Starmer.

Plus Mandelson was his buddy and he was probably involved in his appointment.

Starmer might be regretting the three line whip on that vote the other week.

On its current ungovernable state, I think that would apply to pretty much much everyone in Westminster.
Getting rid of Starmer might cause mirth amongst his opponents but there is no one any better waiting to take over, in any party.

Would rather have John Healey as a semi safe pair of hands

News someone from the Labour "right". The left wing of Labour would totally cock things up even more.

Whoever is next might end up looking worse than Liz Truss.

I'm not totally clear on the election process, but there could be an interim PM who doesn't get approved by the rank'n'file members?

The betting odds still favour Andy Burnham, who isn't eligible.... Yet.

He would be even worse.

He is part of the McSweeny/Mandelson group.

Problem is the Starmer is from the Labour right and Streeting is even more from the Labour right.

The membership will pivot hard to a Labour left person

Not doubting you, but can you elaborate on "your information"? I've not heard that on R4 or any of the "main" sites.

Wes Streeting - definitely the least worse option.

There is nothing worse than a Government with a huge majority and weak opposition. In reality, he can talk the talk, but cannot please the majority of his parting without tanking the economy, like Truss.

We are over-taxed and under-achieving. Warm words will not overcome that reality, they may as well continue to come from Starmer.

We'll be seeing more of the text messages between him and this guy if he steps forward.

Hasn't he already handed his phone over though?

Maybe not. It's fking hard keeping up with all the sleaze.

It'll end badly for them whichever way they go.

Britain is very much not ready for an openly gay PM.

Did you not get enough practice under the Tories? We should all be masters of it by now, but don't worry it's all just an appetizer for when our Nige the grifter in chief takes the reins.
