3rd day in hospital & the nightmare continues.
They re set my wrist yesterday, but won t know for weeks if it s worked. Have no use of left fingers and very limited use of my right hand due to thumb almost being pulled off.
Can only stagger a few steps due to left groin & left knee damage & right ankle broken.
Concussion as well & I know that I also have mental health issues, as the flash backs are very unpleasant.
A f idiot in a car hit me head on, on my side of the road.
How I survived the first impact il never know ( I apparently was thrown backwards into a sumersault like a rag doll ) landing on my back wedged against the kerb - and if he hadn t have mounted the ( high kerb ) and smashed into a lamp post, his out of control car would have almost certainly run me over.
He has stated that “ He didn t see me until i landed on his frigging bonnet “

This is the second head on smash that I’ve somehow survived. The last was 2010.
No idea how bad the damage to the 600 Tenere is,
And if I hadn t have had my new TCX ADV boots on, I would without a doubt be minus both of my feet. Bell ADV lid also did its job.

It s a f jungle out there guys

Without a doubt & thank you.
I almost put my ankle boots on but suddenly at last second decided to switch to the TCXs.
Il never ever ride without full / decent kit on.
They cut my “go to” fave RST Pro ADV jacket & RST jeans off, which I’m choked about, but fortunately managed to get my new boots off.

Best of luck with your recovery. This a genuine nightmare of complete idiots out there.

I recall on the Radio 2 mid morning pop quiz a few years ago, one of the contestants was a motorcycle instructor of 35 years. When asked what the difference between now and then was, they were quite passionate about the current desperate state of driving standards in comparison with 35 years ago.

That's just put paid to me going out on the bike now . I will give it a miss today.
My kit has been getting lighter this year, however your post has reminded me back to full on protection always.

I very much hope you recover fully.

Good luck with your recovery, and well done on wearing proper kit. Still absolutely ste, though, you've clearly got a long and painful road ahead. Do you need anything?

No matter how defensively you ride, you can't do much to mitigate a head on with a car! Hope you heal quick mate.

Horrible situation but at least you’re still here to tell the tale. Sounds like you were lucky with your back hitting the kerb - were you wearing an airbag or standard back protector?

Wishing you all the best an a full recovery mate.
