Some top class schadenfreude here. The shinier a bike is the more likely it's a piece of crap.

I love the warts and all nature of it. He could easily have just hidden the problems by giving it to a local mechanic to fix, but it probably shows the reality of owning a 70's classic.

Lovely looking bike though!

I do find it somewhat hard to believe that someone of this age, with his experience of flying, riding motorcycles and just general "life" that he didn't at any point think "it's flooded, I need to take the plugs out", or test if it was sparking etc.

I mean COME ON.....

There are a few VERY basic things you'd even do with a bloody lawnmower - you don't need to be a trained mechanic.

I get that old bikes can be an utter nightmare (I've been there) but there is an aspect of being almost deliberately helpless by not attempting any diagnosis.....

He asked Allan Millyard about it before buying, thought he would just get him on the blower to ask about the issues rather than asking Youtube lol

I scanned through the second one but it just seems like total clickbait really. Like WTF was he doing when trying to kickstart it while sitting down, surely he's seen someone kickstart a bike before ?

I think he is mechanically hopeless, so not so surprising he can't understand the rest of what's happening.

I suggested he did that in the comments, I quite like him but he is bloody useless at anything practical he's driving me mad with this one

Haven't we been here before with a bike that didn't work properly?

At least one where it runs for a bit and then breaks down in Great Missenden train station car park laugh

He had his trousers pulled down by someone modifying his Royal Enfield.

Nobody watches if there is no drama and suffering, and it seems he generates engagement by asking for advice.
I found it a refreshing change from the usual he does due to laughing a lot.
He said he has some sort of electronics qualification so he was probably pretending to be a bit of a dummy.
The uk and especially the usa hate competent people eventually. Especially when they try something they saw and it blows up in their face. Triggers the shooting spree lol.
He has played dumb unthreatening newbie guy for years now to great success.

I just assumed it was totally disingenuous rubbish to try and fill his dreary chanel.
He acts stupid in my view ,part of his YouTube persona.

Has he tried turning the bike around in the station car park yet ?

Yes, but we tend to ask people, Google things, YouTube it etc - rather than be deliberately hopeless

This. I couldn't watch him any more after that debacle, he's a useless tool.

I’m a Lambretta scooter rider of over 45 years and happened across the Kawasaki video, I am amazed that a chap with a significant bike collection can rustle up a plug spanner !!
With a stroker it’s imperative to have a plug spanner about your person, had he drained and replaced the fuel/oil - certainly my Lammy does not take kindly to stale fuel

Professional bike reviewer that can't kick a bike over or put it on its centre stand?

All these questions after he shows us two garage manuals?

He's clearly going down the Delboy's Garage route of milking videos for engagement.

I think he is a professional modern bike reviewer really. I don't think he has been riding that long either has he ?

Back in the day, when I was in my early 20's, my younger sister had an XT500 that she could always start first kick. There is a definite knack to it.

I had a kh250 , burgundy in colour , that bike does look nigh on mint from what I can see but I just can’t remember that being a colour on those bikes , which seems strange as I’d of thought you would of restored it in a factory colour . It’s nigh on 50 years ago since I owned one so I maybe remembering wrong and it is a factory colour , I can remember a similar colour on an earlier model , just not that one .
Side stand I can’t remember any issues , as above I guess it makes good viewing , content .
