Need some help recently bought a vauxhall zafira around 90k miles not sure when timing belt was last done or if ever done i noticed it has a number written on the cam belt cover of 72126 wrote on in white marker could this be the milage the previous mechanic wrote down when the belt was last changed?

Yeah, pretty common thing to do. Would have been helpful if they'd put the date there too but maybe you could figure that out approximately from the MOT history.
