Renault 4 E-Tech
Discussion
Dropped into our local Renault dealer yesterday to look a the 5, but they also had the 4 in the showroom and I have to say I really liked it.
Better row 2, better boot (no lip at all), and like the 5 the interior is a really nicely designed space with some really nice touches, I assume you can turn off the annoying AI helper?!
We’re looking to potentially replace Mrs 595’s car (my second company car) at some point and either of the Renaults feel like very strong contenders. Feels like the right time to try an EV.
Has anyone on here got one? Interested in your thoughts.

I'm also interested in one. I've been pondering on the switch to full electric, for cost reasons, and to dodge any future snafus in diesel availability. I really like the 5, but it's not quite practical enough for me. But the 4 may be just the thing.
I had a good poke about one at the local dealer, and it's a lovely thing in the metal. Full of character, a lovely cockpit that feels funky/chic as well as practical/useable. Boot space is pretty good, similar to my current Duster but with a properly low sill. I've not driven one (yet), but it feels pretty comfortable, and the videos I've watched suggest it's a fun steer.
It does seem a little dark inside, but that would be alleviated by the fold away canvas roof. The back seats seem a little cramped, but useable.
I'd want mine in green, with white three bolt steel wheels!

I don't know about the mechanics but Renault are turning out some pretty good looking cars in what is a boring samey world. The 4 and 5 although miles bigger than the originals have the styling and proportions spot on.
I remember going on holiday with great Uncle Reg in 1975 (I'd be 5) in his Renault 4. From Gretna to Gatehouse Of Fleet. The plastic vinyl seats burning my legs when the car had been sitting in the hot sun, The column gear change, if I remember that right and our pet whippet Honey pissing in the car.
Stuart a lad I was at ag college with 1988 for a couple of years. His old red R5. Racing about the campus and the state roads. Handbraked it and the subframe snapped. Sold as scrap to the St Quivox recovery folks who turned it into a liveried breakdown van.

Really considering one of these as the family car to replace our diesel Skoda Superb as trips are usually 20 mins from home.
We will loose boot space, but 95% of the year it’s only half full.
Wife likes the canvas roof, and I would be keen too but I think you can’t spec transport rails with this option (bikes and roof box).
